Although there are many different connector standards designated by SAE International, the term SAE Connector is colloquially used to refer to 2-pin overmolded connector commonly used for trickle-charging low-voltage vehicle batteries. This connector seems to be a spinoff of the J928 and J1239 standards as it follows the pin and receptacle type of SAE J928 and the spacing of the 4 pin J1239 trailer lighting connector.

Also called: J928 Connector.
